NASP Southern California

The National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) is an association of professionals in the securities industry. NASP brings together the nation’s minorities and women who have achieved recognition in the industry as brokers, asset managers, public finance consultants, investment bankers, bond counsel commercial bank underwriters, investors, plan sponsors and other finance professionals. We are a 501(c)(3) organization.

Fast-Track Program

The purpose of the Fast-Track program is to expose students from underserved communities to the broader world of business and finance. The curriculum consists of regular one on one mentoring from an industry leader, onsite office field trips to leading financial institutions and awards financial scholarships to address unexpected college expenses which can impede academic focus.

The Annual NASP Southern California Conference

This is a day-long educational conference designed to address the on-going informational needs of pension fund, endowment, foundation trustees and staff and their legal counsel on a series of critical investment issues.

Private equity encompasses several investment strategies including venture capital, growth equity, leveraged buyouts, mezzanine, distressed and secondaries. Experienced and knowledgeable private equity experts will discuss the nuances, opportunities, and issues associated with investing in these asset classes. Panels will be designed to be interactive and educational at both the executive/trustee and staff levels and provide tangible take-a-ways that can be applied to your investment decision-making processes.

SJCERA

Job Posting: Retirement Investment Officer

San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association (SJCERA) is a $4.6 billion multi-employer public employee retirement system that provides retirement, disa-bility, and survivors’ benefits to eligible employees of San Joaquin County and nine other participating employers. SJCERA has constructed a diversified portfolio that invests across public and private markets, including a risk mitigation component, designed to meet the annual assumed rate of return of 6.75%. SJCERA is responsible for maximizing investment returns on member and County contributions and mini-mizing expenses for administration.

The Retirement Investment Officer assists the Retirement Administrator in administering, monitoring and evaluating SJCERA’s $4.6 billion investment program. This position serves as liaison with SJCERA’s investment consultants, oversees the development of comprehensive investment agreements with investment managers, monitors and analyzes investment performance, and maintains asset allocation and risk-limits through rebalancing. This event is geared toward qualified Emerging Managers based on LACERS’ and LAFPP’s Emerging Manager Policy criteria and will consist of a limited number of twenty-five minute meeting slots randomly allocated to interested firms.
